Meet JANE: Your Tax Solution

If you’re behind on tax payments, now is the perfect time to partner with JANE! For the March 2026 year-end, JANE will:

  • Helps pay your taxes as you go.

  • Support instalment arrangements with IRD for overdue taxes.

  • Once your instalment arrangement is in place, this will be paid directly from your JANE account, on your behalf.

Key Tax Dates

Here’s your rundown of important tax dates to remember:

7th April

  • Terminal (Final) Income Tax and Student Loan payments for March 2024.

7th May

  • Two-monthly and six-monthly GST returns for March 2025.

  • Last Provisional Tax for March 2025 Income Tax and Student Loan.

Simplify Your IRD Kilometre Rate Claims

Claiming the IRD KM rate has never been easier! Simply:

Keep a logbook for three months to calculate your business percentage of total KM.

  1. Apply that percentage to your car's total KM for the year.

  2. Record your odometer reading at the start and end of the year.

A three-month logbook is valid for three years, as long as business use doesn’t drop by 20% or your vehicle isn’t replaced with another that has a different usage.
 

Overseas Income Reminder

As a New Zealand tax resident, you’re required to pay tax on your worldwide income — even if the funds weren’t brought into New Zealand. Please notify us of any:

  • Overseas bank accounts.

  • Interests in overseas companies or unit trusts.

  • Life insurance policies, superannuation funds, or other overseas income sources.
